Use Your Existing Doorbell Wiring

Replace your old button. Keep the two power wires.

Turn off the power, remove your old doorbell button and disconnect its two wires. Use those wires to power the HA-DB-35-WF, following the WF installation guide, then connect it to Wi-Fi in AI Color Pro. First check that your existing supply meets the requirements: 16–24 VAC with a compatible 10–40 VA transformer, or 12–24 VDC.

Turn off power

Check that your existing doorbell power supply is compatible, then switch off the breaker that feeds it.

Remove the old button

Disconnect the two wires from your old doorbell button and fit the new mounting bracket.

Connect & mount

Connect the existing two power wires according to the WF installation guide, then secure the doorbell to its bracket.

Set up the app

Restore power, open AI Color Pro and connect the doorbell to Wi-Fi. If you purchased the optional wireless chime, pair it too.

Can I use the two wires from my old doorbell?

Yes, provided the existing power supply is compatible: 16–24 VAC with a compatible 10–40 VA transformer, or 12–24 VDC. The wires provide power; the doorbell connects to your network over Wi-Fi. Follow the HA-DB-35-WF installation guide for the correct wiring. This model does not operate an existing mechanical chime. For an indoor ring, add the optional HA-DB-3C wireless chime, sold separately.

Does this model work with my existing mechanical chime?

No. The HA-DB-35-WF works with the optional HA-DB-3C wireless chime (sold separately) and does not operate an existing mechanical chime. To keep a compatible wired mechanical chime, choose the HA-DB-35-MC.

Does it work with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi?

Yes. Power the doorbell with a compatible 16–24 VAC or 12–24 VDC supply, then connect it to 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz Wi-Fi. For AC power, use a compatible 10–40 VA transformer. Follow the WF wiring guide; this does not make an existing mechanical chime compatible.

Is the doorbell battery powered?

No. The doorbell uses wired power. With a compatible supply, you can reuse the two power wires from your old doorbell button. The indoor chime connects wirelessly and is sold separately.

Does the wireless chime need a cable to the doorbell?

No. Plug the optional HA-DB-3C chime (sold separately) into an indoor outlet and pair it according to its setup instructions. It communicates wirelessly, so no cable runs between the doorbell and the indoor chime.

Do I have to pay a monthly subscription?

No mandatory subscription is required for live view, two-way talk, AI alerts and local recording. Use AI Color Pro for mobile access and record to a microSD card up to 512 GB or a compatible AIBASE NVR. Recording storage is required separately.

How well does it see at night?

Infrared night vision covers up to 3 m (10 ft). An event-activated white nightlight helps illuminate visitors after dark.

Can I adjust the viewing angle?

Yes. The included brackets are a flat mount, a 20° horizontal wedge and a 5° vertical wedge. Choose the bracket that best frames your entrance and doorstep.

Will it handle Canadian weather?

The metal housing is rated IP65, with a listed operating temperature of −30°C to 60°C (−22°F to 140°F).

Can I connect this doorbell to an AIBASE NVR using PoE?

Yes. The HA-DB-35-WF supports PoE through the port on the back of the doorbell for use with a compatible AIBASE PoE NVR. NVR and Ethernet cable sold separately.
